This photo of the Horseshoe Lobby, leading into the
Auditorium, shows the former gray paint on the center columns and wooden
doors painted red. |
The columns and walls have been restored to their original colors and the
doors were stripped to their natural wood. |
|
Surrounding the Horseshoe Lobby, but hidden under gray
paint and baseboard, is beautiful terrazzo. This photo shows a restored
terrazzo column next to a wall ready for stripping. |
The Horseshoe Lobby has now been stripped to reveal the
terrazzo that for years had been hidden under paint and baseboard. |
|
Walls and the ceiling of the Horseshoe Lobby had been a “battleship” gray
for over 40 years. Even the chandeliers and ornate rosettes above them had
been painted gray. |
The Horseshoe Lobby ceiling now shines with a light sky blue paint,
and gold paint now accents the rosettes in the ceiling and the design in the new carpeting.
The walls have been restored to the original colors and new sconce lighting
has been added. |
|
A close-up of the beautiful rosette plasterwork above the
lobby chandeliers, unfortunately dulled by the “battleship” gray paint of the
lobby. |
Gold metallic paint now adorns the rosettes in the lobby. All
of the chandeliers are being restored to their original brass and copper finish
with blue and burgundy color accenting, as shown in this photo. |
 Off-white
paint covered the walls and bases. Doors were painted a dark Gray. |
 New colors now grace
the walls and gorgeous scagliola was discovered underneath layers of paint
and was restored. |
|
Spring 2001 saw the beginning of construction on our
30-foot free-standing marquee, equipped with an electronic sign. |
Completed marquee with faux stained glass installed in the upper arch. |
|
The auditorium seating is the original 1925 seating installed by the
Mizpah Shrine.

|
The lower level seats have been
replaced with brand new historic-style seating in a new color palette.
|
 The main curtain set
was a light gray, aged with years of use, with a gold and green border,
fraying at the edges. |
 A new dark green velvet
curtain set with an elegant gold border has been installed to match the new
color scheme. |
